Niko

Niko Avalishvili is a master of artistic woodcraft who has been working in this field for almost 15 years. He learned the craft from his teacher and friend, Ioseb Andriadze. Drawing on years of experience and a distinctive creative vision, Niko creates original works characterised by unique forms, styles, and meticulous craftsmanship.

His portfolio includes wooden toys, animal figures, decorative compositions, lamps, interior accessories, jewellery, and illustrated balance boards. Each piece is unique and reflects the artist’s individual artistic identity. In addition to wood, he also works with metal, creating a variety of decorative sculptures and figures.

For Niko, the primary source of inspiration is the material itself. The natural shape, texture, colour, and scent of the wood often guide the concept and final appearance of a piece. He pays special attention to highlighting the inherent qualities of the material, allowing the character of the wood to remain visible in every creation.

In his work, Niko relies primarily on handcrafting and uses machinery only to a minimal extent. As a result, his creations are distinguished by their individuality and careful attention to detail. Each work is not only a decorative item but also an expression of the artist’s experience, imagination, and deep connection with nature.

Niko Avalishvili est un maître de l’artisanat d’art du bois qui exerce dans ce domaine depuis près de quinze ans. Il a appris son métier auprès de son professeur et ami, Ioseb Andriadze. Son portfolio comprend des jouets en bois, des figures animales, des compositions décoratives, des lampes, des objets de décoration intérieure, des bijoux ainsi que des planches d’équilibre illustrées. Pour Niko, la principale source d’inspiration est le matériau lui-même.
