Tommaso De Carlo’s professional training took place in the workshops of the Oltrarno area. There, he learned many traditional techniques: engraving, carving, gilding and restoration.
Since the 1980s he has been working in his workshop in Vecchio Coventino in Florence, where he works as a decorator in an environment of craftsmen and artists, experimenting new procedures through continuous technical and formal research into interior decoration.
His works are characterized by the use of traditional methodologies and by a continuous research for new shapes and applications. He realise decorations on wallpaper, panels, walls, floors and furniture.
