The 21st ICOM-CC Triennial Conference will take place in Oslo, accompanied by a rich program of events throughout Norway. Conservators, curators, researchers, and cultural heritage professionals are invited to discover what has been described as “the Norwegian Miracle”: the cultural transformation of the capital, marked by the recent opening of the Munch Museum, the National Museum, and the forthcoming Museum of the Viking Age.
The conference theme, “Cultural Connections in Conservation,” explores how social, professional, and identity-based connections shape the preservation of material heritage in a time of global change. The event encourages inclusive and collaborative approaches, recognizing diverse perspectives, including those of Indigenous cultures, and embracing new tools and methods for conservation.
Oslo’s compact urban layout, with venues, accommodation, and social activities all within walking distance, will foster dialogue, networking, and meaningful exchange among participants from around the world.
