Stone Carving and Letter Drawing

The training will be led by Rodolphe Giuglardo, who has had the privilege of learning from masters in the field since 1983. For more than 35 years, Rodolphe Giuglardo has been teaching the practice of Western calligraphy, an introduction to the design of text typefaces (for reading), lettering, and stone carving. He accompanies each learner according to their level and intentions.

Each session takes place over five consecutive days. These are intensive courses, tailored to individual needs or designed as refresher courses; and the possibilities for development are endless.

Letter drawing is one tool among many for exploring the notions of negative space and form, and for learning how to manage the occupation of space. Bringing these abstract forms, through which sound and thought are conveyed into stone, the oldest tangible material in the world alongside water, may also serve to give memory a spiritual and timeless dimension… Who knows?
