European Cultural Heritage Summit 2024

Join the European Cultural Heritage Summit 2024, taking place from October 6-8 in Bucharest, Romania. This annual gathering, organized by Europa Nostra and co-funded by the European Union, brings together cultural heritage stakeholders from across Europe to explore the political, environmental, and societal significance of cultural heritage. The Bucharest Summit is held under the High Patronage of the President of Romania, H.E. Klaus Iohannis, and is inspired by the iconic works of Romanian artist Constantin Brâncuși.

Highlights of the Summit include:

• European Heritage Awards Ceremony: Celebrate 26 outstanding heritage projects from across Europe, including the Saxon Church in Alma Vii and St. Michael’s Church in Cluj-Napoca, at the renowned Romanian Athenaeum.

• European Heritage Excellence Day: Learn directly from award winners about best practices in heritage preservation and management.

• European Heritage Policy Agora: Engage in discussions on quality-driven heritage policies and strategies, with a focus on addressing climate change and enhancing skills in the sector.

• European Heritage Hub Forum: Explore the impact of digital transformation on cultural heritage, with a special focus on AI, organized by the Europeana Foundation.

Two partner events will take place on the eve of the Summit: a Round Table Discussion on the expectations of Romanian cultural heritage civil society, and a Youth Forum organized by the European Students’ Association for Cultural Heritage.

The Summit is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of Romania, the City of Bucharest, the Romanian Order of Architects, and various other cultural organizations.
