I am a Dutch potter and work from my garden studio in Oxfordshire. I make functional stoneware, pots, plates, bowls which can be used on a daily basis. All work is wheel thrown. I use a lovely, groggy, rustic clay which fires to 1250 degrees. I have made ceramic patterned rollers with which I decorate the leather hard clay. I use a white glaze, made for me in Ireland, for a simple, non fussy appearance. Food stands out well against the white ceramic. Since visiting a number of potters in Japan I like to incorporate akebia vine in my work, a beautiful, natural material. Not one strand is the same. All work is oven and dishwasher proof apart from pieces with akebia handles. I usually make to order but occasionally have work in stock. I mainly sell from the pottery and through the website and send orders within the UK, to Europe and the States.

Glazing a large dish with my wonderful vacuum glazing system
I’m glazing a countertop basin here using my vacuum glazing system. It works so well!
