Georgian artist Eka Khuntsaria lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. Eka graduated from the Department of graphic design at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. After graduating, since then she works on silk. Eka is a co-founder of the well-known textile art studio “La Maison Bleue”, which existed
from 1994 till 2017. After It’s disband, Eka decided to start her own studio – “SILKROOM”.

Her paintings are done by hand on silk fabric, using the technique – Painting on silk. For her works Eka uses professional liquid  paints for textile, textile acrylic paints, wax, paraffin and pure silk.

The artist, Eka says “I’m inspired by nature and my surroundings, It’s very important for me to work every day, because ideas are born in the working process. One can create many compositions from a single motif and the process may be endless. Often, I observe plants, and reinterpret them my own way. Ancient Georgian cultural patterns and models may also be found in my compositions. For the most part, I use my own, distinct way of painting on silk, I view silk the same way a painter views a canvas.”

Over the years her works have been showcased at exhibitions in Georgia, as well as in other countries. Her works are part of many private collections around the world: the UK, the USA, Japan, Italy, France, Portugal, Sweden, Australia, Turkey, Kuwait and etc.
