Practical Project: Basket Making
After the theoretical introduction, each participant will create their own basket using 15-strand esparto braids. The process will include:
- Rectangular base: Sewing several esparto braids together with hemp thread.
- Wall construction: Building up the sides of the basket.
- Decoration: Customizing the interior with pita rope or colored cotton thread.
This technique is accessible and easy to learn, and the sewing methods covered will be useful for future creations.
