TORCHBEADING WORKSHOP WITH MURANO GLASS

TORCHBEADING –  This workshop offers the teaching of Murano torch-beading technique in order to learn how to create decorated beads for jewelry and interior decorations. Partecipation is on individual basis or max 2 students , no prior experience is needed. Materials and tool are provided by the artist. The duration of the course may vary from three to maximum six days long, 4 to 6 hours per day, according to the student needs, previously scheduled and agreed with the teacher. 

FUSION – This workshop is based on learning how to shape glass in a special kiln ( oven)  in order to create fused tiles, pannels, vessels, dishes and shapes for sculptures. Glass is fused after having learned how to “cut” pieces from  flat row tiles giving them shapes by hand using a special diamond wheel cutter, then the pieces are assembled and fired at high temperature to melt them together.

 This class is suitable for individual teaching as well as up to 4 students, the duration of a beginner to intermediate level is 3 to 6 days.

STAINED GLASS – This technique also called TIFFANY ( according to its founder L.C. Tiffany of New York) is suitable to create wonderfully coloured window pannels, lightcatchers and other various objects. Glass tiles are cut with a  diamond wheel tool and then assembled with copper tape and lead soldering. 

This class is suitable for individual teaching as well up to 4 students, the duration is 3/4 days. 

 Workshops are held in Sicily, Ragusa province, at the artist studio, where it is also possible to locate in a private room or in accomodations nearby and possibly combine sightseen tours of the area under request.
