I trained as a Marquetry Cutter, then Pole lathe wood turner, antique restorer and specialist in endangered wood crafts. Also, I have researched, documented, filmed and written articles on rare and endangered crafts from around the world. I have demonstrated and lectured internationally and have appeared in television programmes in connexion with my trade since 1974. I often contribute illustrated articles to the woodworking press and demonstrate to woodturning clubs and guilds.
I am a member of the AWGB, APLTGW, RPT and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Turners, City of London.
I was born in the Buckinghamshire village of Holmer Green in 1942, and played as a child in the local Beech woods. The countryside and the trades and traditions of those that shaped it over centuries have always fascinated me and influenced my work….
