A CRAFTSMAN LIVES IN MY VILLAGE

EDUCATIONAL OFFER (ADULT TEACHERS, BACCALAUREATE HOLDERS AND HERITAGE MEDIATORS) – COMBINED PACKAGE

From September to June

This activity gives your pupils the chance to discover the former Paix-Dieu abbey on a fun tour and to work with a craftsman in a real workshop. Another day is devoted to exploring the heritage of their village or neighbourhood through tailor-made discovery activities.

**In collaboration with Qualité-Village-Wallonie.

Subjects covered : heritage, building materials, heritage trades, history, specific vocabulary, workshop work.

Types of activities :  
– At the Paix-Dieu abbey: discovery of the site (its history, its restoration), workshop work (slate roofing, copperware, carpentry, decorative painting or stone carving, carpentry, ceramics and glass engraving, mosaics).- At school: discover the local heritage through fun and creative activities, and meet local craftspeople.

Trainers : an educational facilitator, craftspeople (particularly local) and resource people.

Public : children from 3rd primary to 1st secondary school

Duration : 2 days
– 1 day at La Paix-Dieu
– 1 day in the classroom and in the neighbourhood or village of your school
