WORKSHOP | Traditional Carpentry

From September 22 to 26, 2025, a hands-on workshop on wooden structure design and drawing will take place in Everbeek, Belgium.

Led by Dirk Mortier, this course is organized by La Table Ronde de l’Architecture in collaboration with INTBAU Belgium.

It is excellent opportunity to deepen your knowledge of traditional carpentry methods under the guidance of an experienced craftsperson.

TRAINING CONTENT

Course: The stages of the carpentry trade: from drafting to the assembly of a structure

Course: Carpentry tools – The various tools and techniques used in the past and today, and the results achieved with them

Project: Sketch of a scaled project (it can be a personal project)

Project: Technical drawings of the project: plans, sections, elevations, and details

Project: Preparation of a list of materials and wooden parts needed for the construction of the project

All drawings will be done by hand. No prior drawing experience is required.
