In the first year of the new millennium, felt wool tickled me for the first time. With success!

Various textile techniques have already crossed my path, but with felt I felt that I had arrived and accepted.

I was won over by the ingenious simplicity of the production, the three-dimensional without seams, the cutting without fraying edges, the various surface structures and the radiant colors.

This is how I create hand felts in all possible shapes and for all possible occasions in everyday life. Accompany me into my fascinating world of felt and let yourself be surprised.

I come from a family where the motto is: you can do it yourself. It was cooked, canned, a garden and provisions laid out, the family members sewed, knitted, embroidered and so on – but everything within the framework of the known, tried and tested. Creativity was not required.

After graduating from high school, I first explored Europe: a year in England, a year in France and then, very regularly, Italy.

After graduating from university as a qualified interpreter, after brief stints at a dairy machinery company and a trade fair company, I got a job at a trade fair construction company: brilliant, because there I was able to develop and bring my ideas into planning and their implementation in trade fair stands. The combination of mental and manual work required there was very helpful to me and is still a cornerstone of my work.

For more than 20 years I have enthusiastically built exhibition stands for my international customers across Europe and came into contact with many different trades.

In 2000 I met the medium of felt for the first time – it was love at first sight. In principle, it is easy to manufacture, can be used in many areas, can be implemented creatively and is sustainable. I just love the softness, flexibility and strength of wool. All of these are very positive aspects of my job. And so I develop felt products for many areas – a never-ending story, especially when I can incorporate experiences from my travels to Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia as well as from my hobbies, including calligraphy and tailoring.

Im ersten Jahr des neuen Jahrtausends hat mich Filzwolle zum ersten Mal gekitzelt. Mit Erfolg!
Verschiedenste textile Techniken haben schon meinen Weg gekreuzt, doch beim Filz fühlte ich mich angekommen und angenommen.
Überzeugt haben mich die geniale Einfachheit der Herstellung, das Dreidimensionale ohne Nähte, das Schneiden ohne ausfransende Ränder, die unterschiedlichsten Oberflächenstrukturen und die strahlende Farbigkeit.
So erschaffe ich Handfilze in allen möglichen Formen und für alle möglichen Anlässe des täglichen Lebens. Begleiten Sie mich in meine faszinierende Filzwelt und lassen Sie sich überraschen.
Ich komme aus einer Familie, in der die Devise gilt: das kann man selbst machen. Es wurde gekocht, eingemacht, ein Garten und Vorräte angelegt, die Familienmitglieder benäht, bestrickt, bestickt und so weiter – jedoch alles im Rahmen des Bekannten, Erprobten. Kreativität war nicht gefragt.
Nach dem Abitur habe ich erst einmal Europa erkundet: ein Jahr England, ein Jahr Frankreich und dann sehr regelmäßig Italien.

Nach meinem Universitätsabschluss als Diplomdolmetscherin erhielt ich nach kurzen Abstechern bei einem Unternehmen für Molkereimaschinen und einer Messegesellschaft eine Anstellung bei einem Messebauunternehmen: genial, denn dort konnte ich meine Ideen in Planung und deren Umsetzung in Messestände entwickeln und einbringen. Die dort geforderte Kombination aus Kopf- und Handarbeit kam mir sehr entgegen und ist immer noch ein Grundbaustein meines Tuns.

Über 20 Jahre habe ich für meine internationalen Kunden europaweit mit Begeisterung Messestände gebaut und kam dabei mit sehr vielen unterschiedlichen Gewerken in Berührung.

In 2000 dann begegnete mir zum ersten Mal das Medium Filz – es war Liebe auf den ersten Blick. Im Prinzip einfach herzustellen, in vielen Bereichen anwendbar, kreativ umzusetzen und nachhaltig. Ich liebe einfach die Weichheit, die Flexibilität und Festigkeit der Wolle. All dies sind sehr positive Aspekte meiner Arbeit. Und so entwickle ich Filzprodukte für viele Bereiche – eine unendliche Geschichte, vor allem wenn ich auch Erfahrungen aus meine Reisen nach Kirgistan und in die Mongolei wie auch aus meinen Hobbys u.a. der Kalligrafie und der Schneiderei einfließen lassen kann.
