PRIMARY AND SECONDARY LEVELS (September to June)
Duration: 4 or 5 days (boarding or day school*)
In collaboration with Construform, a skills centre dedicated to the construction industry

Pupils have the opportunity to learn about the techniques involved in restoring built heritage. This activity enables them to discover the heritage aspect of their future profession by working directly on an outdoor restoration site or in a workshop at La Paix-Dieu. Contact with people in the field also gives them an insight into the realities of working on a building site. The course is tailored to the prerequisites and knowledge of the students.

Courses on offer

– Applied arts/artistics/completion/decor: sgraffito, decorative lime techniques, stained glass, techniques for imitating materials, gilding, cement-rockwork.

– Mosaic techniques Construction/masonry/public works/building renovation: traditional lime masonry, stone cutting, finishing and laying, dry stone wall construction, cob, blacksmithing.

– Construction/wood/carpentry/woodwork: restoration of old carpentry, traditional assemblies, restoration of old windows and introduction to carpentry.

Trainers: a teacher and a craftsman.
Target group: 3rd level of general, technical, vocational and specialised secondary education, CEFA.

*70-bed accommodation, with catering facilities, is available for classes taking part in activities over several days, allowing them to get to grips with the site and the learning process.
