The European Artistic Crafts Days (EACD) return in 2025 with a new edition under the theme “The Golden Thread”, a tribute to the invisible yet essential connections that bind artisans to their communities and territories. Through their work, craftspeople weave tradition and innovation together, preserving a heritage of craftsmanship that strengthens local economies, reinforces cultural identity, and promotes more conscious and sustainable consumption.
The Origins of EACD
The Artistic Crafts Days were first launched in France in 2002, supported by the French government to highlight and celebrate craftsmanship. Due to its success, the event expanded in 2012 to a European level, becoming the European Artistic Crafts Days (EACD). Today, it is the largest international event dedicated to craftsmanship, with 24 countries participating in the 2023 edition.
Every spring, craft studios open their doors to the public, and museums, training schools, and iconic venues host special events, demonstrations, and workshops to bring craftsmanship closer to everyone.
What to Expect in EACD 2025?
For a week, craft professionals across Europe will offer:
- Open studios where visitors can meet artisans and discover their work.
- Live demonstrations showcasing both traditional and contemporary techniques.
- Hands-on workshops to learn and experiment with crafts.
- Conferences and meetings with industry experts.
- “Rendez-vous d’Exception”, exclusive visits to remarkable venues usually closed to the public.
The Goal of EACD
The EACD aims to showcase craftsmanship as a living heritage, a source of employment, and a driver of local development. The event strengthens the bond between artisans and their communities while highlighting their role in the economy, tourism, and education.
Who is it for?
The EACD welcomes everyone: craft enthusiasts, curious visitors, families, students, collectors, and consumers looking for unique, high-quality, and sustainable products.
