The Universitat Politècnica de València (Spain) is pleased to announce HERITAGE2025, the International Conference on Earthen and Vernacular Heritage: Restoration, Rehabilitation and Urban Regeneration.
The conference, which will be held on September 10th, 11th and 12th, 2025 at the School of Architecture of the Universitat Politècnica de València, aims to bring together researchers, professionals, students and technicians dedicated to the preservation and advancement of earthen and vernacular architecture.
The conference will feature keynote lectures from international experts, alongside presentations of selected papers and posters. The conference will also include exhibitions showcasing innovative works and projects in the field, as well as technical visits to heritage sites in the area of Valencia, offering attendees a hands-on opportunity to engage with local architecture and conservation practices.
Addressed topics will include the study and cataloguing of vernacular and earthen architecture, traditional materials and techniques, sustainability mechanisms, restoration and conservation practices, urban and rural historical sites, energy efficiency, and the integration of contemporary projects in historical contexts.
Those who are interested in contributing with a paper or a poster to the conference should submit an abstract of 150-300 words in English by November 22nd, 2024. Accepted contributions will be published in the conference proceedings with ISBN by the editorial EdUPV.
