Coming from a farming background and having studied agriculture for three years, I was eventually won over by my leaning towards the arts. So following a vocational course at High Wycombe College of Art I was subsequently introduced to Master Carver, Frank Hudson, a great eccentric from whom I learnt the classical art of woodcarving. I started my present business in 1983 and for many years now have worked with top interior designers, architects and private clients around the world.
Much of my work is inspired from the 18th century from the colourful and fluid Venetian pieces, French chairs and eccentric English chinoiserie. Meticulous copies can be created along with original pieces ranging from personalised mirrors to bespoke furniture, often derived from natural forms. My love for wildlife is reflected in sculptures of birds of prey, naturalistic sculptures and also portrait busts.
